Diamantis Masoutis SA has a large network of stores in Northern Greece and an important position in the field of retail trade, while nationwide it is among the largest chains. With 268 stores, 245 supermarkets, 22 wholesale stores Cash & Carry, and a storage and distribution center in Kavalari geographically covers all regions of Macedonia, Thrace, Thessaly, Epirus, Fthiotida, Evia and the islands of Thassos, Limnos, Lesvos and Chios. Employing more than 6,700 workers, Diamantis Masoutis S.A. follows a development strategy and has as its main objective the continuous development and optimization of the efficiency of its processes. The result of this strategy is the continuous development of the company’s sales network as well as the improvement of all services provided to its customers.
In a particularly challenging environment, Diamantis Masoutis SA. sought to build a network of stores that would meet the demands of its customers by opening new stores in strategic locations, renovating older ones and relocating existing stores to new, more modern facilities. For the effective implementation of the company’s business strategy, a necessary condition is
the development of information systems, which cover all the company’s business processes and support decision-making throughout the range of its functions (Sap, Qlikview-MasInfo, Scan & Shop , Queue busting).
Finally, what characterizes and differentiates Diamantis Masoutis are its values and its people, which are its competitive advantage. For six consecutive years (2012 to 2017), the company has been distinguished among the companies with the best working environment in Greece, by the Great Place to Work Institute Hellas. According to the institute the key factor for this distinction is trust. About 30% of the company’s employees have been working for more than 15 years in the company, which proves its ability to create long-term relationships of commitment and trust.
The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (A.U.Th.; often called the Aristotelian University or University of Thessaloniki; Greek: Αριστοτέλειο Πανεπιστήμιο Θεσσαλονίκης) is the second oldest tertiary education institution within Greece. Named after the philosopher Aristotle, who was born in Stageira, about 55 km (34 miles) east of Thessaloniki, it is the largest university in Greece and its campus covers 230,000 square meters in the center of Thessaloniki, with additional educational and administrative facilities elsewhere.
As of 2023, there is a student population of approximately 88,283 active students enrolled at the university (77,198 at the undergraduate level and 6,588 in postgraduate programs of which 3,952 at doctoral level) and 2,366 faculty members. There are additionally 248 members of the Special Laboratory Teaching Personnel and 213 members of the Special Technical Laboratory Personnel. The administrative staff consists of 400 permanent employees and 528 subcontractor employees that are contracted by the university.
The Laboratory of Informatics in Agriculture was founded in 1990. It belongs to the School of Agriculture of the Faculty of Agriculture, Forestry and Natural Environment of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. The main aims of the Laboratory are the Education and Research on the fields of Information and Communication Technologies in Agriculture, Food and Environment
